Amanda and Scott Anderson featuring the Walker Brothers
Featuring both angelic and growly lead vocals and the powerhouse instrumental prowess of some of the best musicians the state of Florida has ever produced, Amanda and Scott Anderson featuring the Walker Brothers are making waves in the acoustic music world. With tight family harmonies, great story songs, sizzling musicianship, and mesmerizing stage presence, they deliver the goods with bluegrass and Americana offerings .
Amanda Anderson started singing before she was two years old, and now her crystalline voice is often compared to that of Alison Krauss. She made her recorded debut singing and playing fiddle on her critically-acclaimed debut project with her dad Scott, “Another Day”, in 2009. Her vocals were also featured very prominently on Scott’s “Tales from the Swamp,” where she shined in the studio among bluegrass legends such as Sam Bush, Jim Hurst, Stuart Duncan, and Barry Bales. She has performed with her own band and duo as well as with The Bluegrass Parlor Band since 2008. She did all of this before graduating high school, where she also excelled as a National Merit Scholar.
Scott Anderson has been a fixture on the Southeastern bluegrass and gospel circuit for almost three decades, singing and playing banjo with the Bluegrass Parlor Band, Endless Highway , The Jim Hurst Band, The Scott Anderson Band, and Keith Sewell among others. He has produced his own critically-acclaimed projects including “Rivers”, Amanda and Scott Anderson’s “Another Day,” and now “Tales from the Swamp” which have all received airplay worldwide. Scott has also performed or recorded with Claire Lynch, Sam Bush, Vassar Clements, Larry Rice, Byron Berline, Adam Steffey, Sierra Hull, Clay Hess, Chubby Wise, Allen Shadd, Michael Jackson, Bill Grant and Delia Bell, Blue Angel, Chief Jim Billie, George Custer, Sno Rogers and the Naples Philharmonic Orchestra (yes, with a banjo!) Scott has been featured in Banjo Newsletter, and writes for the magazine as well, including articles and interviews with Tony Trischka, Bill Evans, Greg Cahill, Scott Vestal, Cory Walker and Béla Fleck.
The Walker Brothers, Cory, Jarrod, and Tyler, wield unreal instrumental skills beyond their years. Older brothers Cory and Jarrod Walker, now students at Middle Tennessee State University, are highly respected multi-instrumentalists who have performed nationally and internationally in well-known touring bands and as a duo. As a duo with Cory usually on banjo and Jarrod usually on mandolin, they have performed at the Grand Ole Opry, Titan Stadium in Nashville, and were featured on ABC and CBS television CMA specials with Keith Urban, Kix Brooks, Earl Scruggs, and Ricky Skaggs. Their latest CD, "New Branches", has received significant national radio airplay, and was very warmly reviewed by Bluegrass Unlimited magazine. Younger brother Tyler, a Plant City, FL high school sophomore, is continuing the family tradition and plays powerful rhythm and lead guitar. He can be heard on "New Branches" as well as Scott Anderson's newest release, "Tales from the Swamp."
