Lonnie E. Knight
Sept. 13, 1926-July 23, 2006
On Sunday, July 23, 2006, Mr. Lonnie Knight, founder of our festival, lost his long battle with cancer following a difficult surgery on July 17, 2006.
Lonnie and Peggy Knight were married for 59 years, and Mrs. Knight says that "Even though it was hard to give him up, we know he is at peace with the Lord because he was a Christian".
Lonnie and Peggy Knight have operated the festival for over 25 years.
Peggy and her family will continue the festival as a living memorial to Lonnie.
