Don't Pet the Grass brings Gainesville, Florida native son Tom Petty's songs to life with bluegrass instruments, just as God intended.
Don't Pet the Grass was the brainchild of longtime Gainesville music icon, Mike Boulware. He gathered together Tom's old Mudcrutch bandmate Danny Roberts, Dobro whiz Tuck Tucker, and banjoist Scott Anderson to perform their inaugural set at the October 2018 Tom Petty Weekend at Heartwood Soundstage in Gainesville. It turned out to be a lot of fun and the crowd loved it so the decision was made to make it more of a regular gig.
